I was responsible for IBM’s mechanical electronic enclosures, rack frames, covers, plastic molded parts, castings, bracket fixtures and hard tooling. I am skilled in trouble shooting manufacturing assembly issues, finding root cause and driving the corrective action plans. I have extensive work experience launching new manufacturing product, managing the supply chain, reviewing and responding to ECO requests. Enjoy technical challenges such as identify manufacturing cost reduction, solving mechanical problems and correcting manufacturing issues. I have work experience in R&D and prototyping mechanical hardware.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

OMNICELL, MOUNTIAN VIEW, CALIFORNIA

Mechanical Designer (Oct. 2014 – Jan. 2017)

Develop new medical frames, plastic parts, and sheet metal hardware with the use of 3D models (CAD). Identify appropriate vendors and building prototype hardware. Ensure design for manufacturing (DFM) feasibility. Duties include 3D printing parts, obtaining manufacturing plastic parts and responsible for tooling molds. Perform analysis of proto-type parts and assembling them. Drive corrective action plans and tolerance analysis. Responsible for detail drawings, BOM’s and ECO sign-offs release with Agile. I am proficient in Solidworks and PDM.

REALM COMMUICATIONS, MILPITAS, CALIFORNIA

Mechanical Designer (March 2014 – Sept. 2014)

I developed custom Fiber Optic enclosures and cable routing hardware. Duties included engineering assemblies, mechanical detailing, and isometric drawings for fabrication. Responsible and designing Qualification Plans, assembly test methods, driving corrective action plans and completing failure analysis reports. Also, responsible for EC sign-offs and using Solidworks 3D modeling to design for fit, form, and function.

IBM, SAN JOSE, CALIFORNIA

Supplier Quality Engineer (Jan. 2001 – July 2013)

Designing Qualification Plans, assembly test methods, and validating test gauges, driving corrective action plans and completing failure analysis reports. Required to review FAI’s, FMEA and identify critical parameters with vendors. I developed a supplier inspection matrix to determine if hardware is built in accordance to specification to meet the DPPM and Cpk targets. Engaged early with development, manufacturing and supplier groups to insure documentation is properly released. Establish product Bill of Material (BOM) structure and maintain a high accurate BOM level. Verifying RoHS material requirements were compliant at the supplier’s location prior to production.
