Academic Projects

Analysis of TCP performance over mobile Ad hoc networks

After analyzing the ns simulation results of TCP-Reno, ELFN with 2 second probe interval, sending the probe packet on the first ELFN notification improves the performance significantly.

These results might vary with the different mobility speed and length of the link repair. Similarly, the use of cache did not favor the repeated link failure instances, as the inability of TCP sender protocol to quickly respond to purge the stale routes from cache resulted from the repeated routing failures.

So, effective cache maintenance strategies should be implemented to improve the TCP performance.

Project: Software Defined Wireless Mesh Networks- Mobility

Successfully developed an SDN based application for the RYU controller to perform efficient handoff during mobility.

Created a virtual topology of stations and access points using a wireless emulator, “mininet-wifi”, the stations could perform efficient mobility with 3 packets loss during handoff.

Same application was implemented on the real test-bed “WU-MESH”, we could experience 25 packets loss during handoff.

Certifications:

Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) - CSCO13167984

Relevant Coursework:

Routing & Switching, Data Communication Networks, Wireless Networking, Multi Service over IP, Information theoretic Security, Ad-hoc & Sensor Networks, Mathematical Foundations of Computer Networking.
