Genworth is a financial services company providing financial security and protection through our Mortgage Insurance and Long-Term Care Insurance businesses.

GFB Migration project:

The reason behind is that during several Severity 1 incidents and external audits, it was discovered that Genworth was not equipped to handle major service outages and could not test a majority of their critical systems disaster recovery plans. ETL/HCE fell into this scenario having DR environments and was very cumbersome to manage.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Project Description:

Scottsdale Insurance is a leading provider of insurance and other financial services to millions of individual and institutional customers throughout the United States.

Actuarial data warehousing project for life insurance business was to replace the manual processes done to calculate reserves by automating it through ETL processes. This process also involves replacement of old valuation system with new valuation system. Valuation data processed through new valuation system is stored in Valuation Database (Oracle 11g). Posting sheets are generated from Valuation Database with the help of Business Object reports. Posting sheet reports generated from BO are then posted to General Ledger.
