Assistant Drilling Engineer

Being deputed as an Assistant Drilling Engineer, my duties included:

Assisting with the Preparation of Scope of Works for Request for Tender documents.

Assisting with Technical evaluation of submitted Tenders and providing recommendations for contract award.

Assisting Preparation of drilling and work over designs, and programmes to meet asset objectives.

Research and promotion of innovative and best practice techniques to optimize well construction performance.

Effective liaison and communication with all applicable parties involved in drilling and work over programmes with managing of drilling documentation and data.

Assist the Day Drilling Supervisor in implementing and supervising the drilling program in the best interests of time, cost, safety and quality.

Responsible for the execution of different Casing running and cementing operations and FIT.

Maintain companies owned or hired equipment inventory list, coordinating with the Logistics on updates to the list as equipment arrives/departs and conduct an inventory check

Responsible for the right selection of bit to be run from available stock

Actively participate and finding way outs in different problematic situations like stuck pipe or washouts.

Monitor Lost Circulations and co-ordinate with Mud Engineer to cure losses.

Participated in Well Killing operations using suitable method of Well Control.

Compile and maintain hard copies of all required technical data sheets for tools and materials used in drilling operations, and ensure that this data is readily available for the drilling supervisors.
