Technical Writer

Conceptualized, produced, and thoroughly tested a 500+-page hardware/software installation and configuration manual. This manual was instrumental in providing field technicians with the necessary guidance to install (in a one-year timeframe), a new server system made up of over 1,194 servers nationwide.

Minimized installation-related support desk calls to practically zero through successful creation and delivery of well thought-out manual.

Created numerous technical documentation covering computer operations, Local Area Network (LAN) management design, support desk operations, and field technician procedures. These documents were critical to classroom training and to field installations for installing proprietary servers worldwide.

With limited resources and budget constraints, was able to rely on my creativity and expertise to develop documentation with little support from Subject Mater Experts; primarily by interacting directly with the software application as it was being developed and tested. This not only saved time, but also allowed me to submit numerous software problems and suggestions on GUI fixes to software engineers.

Created and edited a video demonstration for Marketing of company products that was presented at the annual trade show for the Association of the United States Army (AUSA), which is the largest land power exposition and professional development forum in North America.

Developed and produced operator, administrative, and training documentation in support of programs used by the U.S. Government, U.S. Military, and commercial organizations. Satellite Operations / Systems Engineer / Technical Documentation Specialist Volt Technical Services

Contracted to Martin Marietta Astro Space. Produced the Earth Observing System (EOS) AM Flight Operations Concept document. This document is the baseline for all follow-on operation documents and is used as the basis to validate the EOS-AM spacecraft’s subsystem Critical Design Reviews against mission operation requirements. Developed and managed the GE training program for the TELSTAR 4 communications satellite. Redefined established objectives, allocated resources, planned, budgeted, and developed courses/instructor guides, and coordinated the documentation and training data for nine engineering departments. Senior Captain United States Air Force

Spearheaded the planning, integration, and operational support for three major satellite programs resulting in the successful implementation of the Data System Modernization (DSM) for the first operational satellite ground control launch facility in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Coordinated on rehearsals for seven successful satellite launches for the NAVSTAR – Global Positioning System

(GPS). Preparatory work included crew training, documentation development, data processing, and system integration and testing.
