I most recently headed up the Industrial Engineering Department as the Industrial Engineering Manager for Fehrer Automotive. Fehrer supplies the foam seating and related components for the seating assemblies for all the BMW production in Spartanburg. This is a high volume manufacturing site, producing approximately seventeen thousand pieces of foam each day across five production lines. Fehrer is a tier 1 and tier 2 supplier. Responsibilities included PFMEA’s Control Plans, Work Instructions, Standard Work, Bill of Material’s, New Product Launches, Capacity Studies, New Line and Capital Equipment purchases and layouts, Maintenance Management, Facilities Maintenance, Kaizen events, Continuous Improvement and Environmental compliance.

I am certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt through the George Group and Greenville Technical College. I have been involved in Continuous Improvement activities during my whole working career. I have held Lean and Continuous Improvement leadership roles in various manufacturing operations and environments.

My Engineering, Manufacturing and especially Lean training really accelerated during my New Product Management role at Hitachi Electronic Devices. I was trained in Hitachi’s continuous improvement methodology in Japan within the Electronic Devices division. My project Management training and application followed with the implementation of the Lean practices and problem solving discipline.

I have been on corporate Project and Continuous improvement teams, training Lean and Green Belt project mentorship. Applying best practices across multiple plant sites while working on local production and process related issues.

I have worked in several different manufacturing operations, which several are closed or moved outside the United States. My education and skill set has transferred well across various industries and has kept me in the Upstate of South Carolina.
