PROJECT EXPERIENCE
Striving to amend article No.4 of the Bahraini Nationality Law (1963) regarding nationality of children born to a Bahraini mother and a non-Bahraini father. The issue is to give equal rights to the mother just like a Bahraini father has in giving their children the Bahraini citizenship (which the parent possess). This was done by creating a whole new draft for a new article and handed to the Head of the Constitutional Courts in the Kingdom. The current law is un-constitutional and it also contradicts with the Convention on the Elimination of all Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW) in which the Kingdom is a member of, as well as it not being in line with the General Principles of equality and justice.
