Two years of experience working in a laboratory, complemented by active involvement in the fields of materials science, structural engineering, and green nanocomposites. Hands-on proficiency in using multiple sophisticated analytical instruments such as Dynamic Mechanical Analysis (DMA) and simulation programs such as Pro/II and SuperPro Designer to design plants.

Areas of Expertise

Materials Science Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) Plant Design

Structural Engineering Dynamic Mechanical Analysis (DMA) Process Simulation

Green Nanocomposites Fourier Transform Infrared (FT-IR) BET Analysis

Nanoparticle Morphology Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA) Analytical Instruments Education

Master of Science: Chemical Engineering University of Mississippi • Oxford, MS, Dec 2016, GPA 3.52 Bachelor of Science: Chemical Engineering University of Mississippi • Oxford, MS, May 2014, GPA 3.41 Professional Experience

Research Project, Graduate Researcher • University of Mississippi, Oxford, MS • Fall 2014 to Fall 2016 Functioned as a teaching assistant in charge of advising undergraduate chemical engineering students in courses such as: Plant Design I & II, Transport Phenomena, and Process Control and Safety. Led a research project focused on the dynamic mechanical and thermal properties of cellulose nanocrystal/epoxy nanocomposites. The project involved fabricating CNC-based epoxy nanocomposites using pristine and surface-coated CNCs and distributing CNCs in epoxy using three-roll milling and sonication.

Earned recognition for executing the project on a timely basis

Observed the best results at 5wt% of CNCs; storage and loss modulus increased by 31% and 57%, respectively.

Implemented potential applications in the fabrication of light-weight structural composites for cross- functional industries (construction, automotive and aerospace). Influenza Vaccine Plant Design • University of Mississippi, Oxford, MS • Spring 2014 Participated in the AIChE National Student Plant Design Competition as a member of a 3 person team, where competitors designed and optimized an innovative pharmaceutical plant producing influenza vaccines via insect cells within 2 months.

Designed a plant capable of producing 50M of trivalent vaccines via sf9 cells (rate of return was 97%).

Executed simulations in Pro/II and SuperPro Designer. Maleic Anhydride Plant Design • University of Mississippi, Oxford, MS • Fall 2013 Functioned as a member of a 3 person team to successfully design and optimize the Maleic Anhydride Plant.

Designed a plant capable of producing 20,000tons/yr of (99.8wt%) maleic anhydride (net present value, rate of return and capital investment were $33.9M, 30% and $26.9M, respectively).

Performed Pro/II simulations and analyzed pertinent economics. Technical Proficiency
