Performed nursing assistant duties in the Operating Room by providing support in surgical procedures ranging from routine cases (i.e., appendectomy, cholecystectomy, herniorrhaphy, etc.) to complex high risk and trauma cases (Neurosurgery, orthopedic, thoracic, vehicular accident, gunshots, and puncture wounds). Performed necessary Surgical Technologist roles during the procedure which includes handing of instruments to surgeon, anticipating surgeon needs during cases, communicate all sponge and sharp counts effectively and ensure a sterile environment. Rotated all shifts, weekends and holidays. Duties also included transporting patients from hospital unit to operating room and verifying the right case and procedure, and clean/restock necessary items in operating room.
