Wrote detailed technical summaries of federal permit applications that explained the evaluation procedure of applications. Developed detailed charts for state and federal regulations that determined applicable requirements for compliance with these regulations and help the regulated community determine compliance requirements.

Prepared and presented to the regulated community and management detailed guidance on permitting requirements. Developed and managed the development of guidance documents for permit reviewers and the regulated community that promoted the understanding of environmental regulations and permitting procedures. Evaluated federal permit applications for permit and regulatory applicability, resolve errors or corrections and negotiate permit requirements with TCEQ customers. Coordinated and planned two major team projects for the renewal of general operating projects. These projects involved coordination between and working with multiple sections of the division. These permits incorporate over 50 environmental regulations. These projects involved managing the work of approximately 10 people and involved setting short and long term deadlines for development and review. Also, reporting updates regularly to management and advising the team and management on the best course of action while performing technical and administrative edits of the permits. Oversaw the development of different forms relating to various industries and equipment types. Recommended solutions for regulatory requirements in technical forms based on federal regulations and coordinated the updating of these forms with other sections within TCEQ. Communicated with customers and explained regulatory applicability based on my knowledge, training, and input from subject matter experts. Interpreted federal operating permit requirements at several environmental trade fairs and seminars. Trained new employees on the permitting process. Applied my knowledge of Texas and federal air permitting requirements by reviewing and issuing approximately 10 federal permit applications annually, including reviewing and processing federal air permit applications for various industries. These permits incorporate requirements from New Source Performance Standards, National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants, and Texas state regulations. I worked with a tornado/microburst simulator. I also did research on a number of topics and presented my findings in a poster to my peer and professors. I worked with computer programs, including Labview; I also programmed a data retrieval system.

COMMUNICATION I am able to communicate concepts to many different types of industries and customers. I have given many presentations on my current position as an Environmental Specialist at the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality that describes the procedures for my program area.
