Academic Projects

Enhancing Alexa’s capabilities using Sentence Clause Detection

Built a clause Detector that detects matrix, embedded and relative clauses in complex and compound sentences using Natural Language Processing (Stanford CoreNLP).

The clauses are represented on a Knowledge Graph in neo4j. The graph is integrated to Alexa module.

Flight delay prediction using General Linear Models

Built a GLM model using OLS estimation to study the factors affecting flight delays amongst the top 11 airports in USA. The project was implemented on SAS.

The model involved the use of Dummy variables, overcame issues like multicollinearity autocorrelation and heteroscedasticity.

Achieved 0.96 adjusted R-squared for the period 2013-2016

Blink detection-based Head Mounted Camera

Implemented an eye-blink based, gesture-controlled head mounted Go-Pro style camera with additional functionality.

Used eye blink detection to capture images/videos and arm movement to perform zoom in and out functions.

Enabled real time access to captured images by uploading data on to a web server.

Developed the project on a Raspberry Pi board using Python as the primary programming language.
