EXPERIENCE:

November 1989 – Present: Dario Language Systems, President. Duties included: developing customized programs for law enforcement agencies, submitting proposals, hiring and evaluating staff. Clients include: Mesa, Phoenix and Scottsdale Police Departments, Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office, and the Department of Public Safety.

January 1993 -1996: Maricopa Community Colleges, District Office, Curriculum Developer and Instructor for Office of Economic Development. Duties included: developing Spanish programs for Collectors for Chase Bankcard Service and Carter Hawley Hale.

January 1987 – 1993: Chandler Gilbert Community College, Chandler, Arizona. Coordinator of the Job Specific Spanish Language Programs. Duties included: teaching and developing Spanish courses in all professional areas that included law enforcement, medical and business.

May 1987 – 1900: Instructor of Law Enforcement Spanish for the Mesa Police Department. Duties included: teaching and developing Spanish courses, hiring and evaluating instructors.

June 1986 – October: Language Center of the Pacific, Glendora, California. Assistant Director. Duties included: marketing schools to foreign governments; designing English for Specific Purposes material; submitting proposals to embassies and U.S. government agencies and assisting students with immigration documents.

October 1993 – 1995: International Airports Projects, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Program Specialist in Career Development. Duties included: organization and development of management seminars and career paths for senior management at the airports in Riyadh and Jeddah.

July 1982 – August 1983: Northrop Corporation Technical Institute, Natchitoches, Louisiana. Site Manager for English Language Training Program for Saudi Petrochemical Company. Duties included: setting up training program; hiring teaching and administrative staff; interfacing with university and town officials; and establishing budge priorities.

May 1981 – July 1982: Northrop Corporation Technical Institute, Ottumwa, Iowa, Lead-Instructor English Language program for SAUDIA Airlines. Duties included: Coordination of curriculum development; supervision and evaluation of teaching staff; scheduling classes, and academic counseling.

October 1978 – June 1980. Adjunct Professor of Bilingual Education at the University of

Texas in San Antonio, Texas. Duties included: teaching course in “Reading Acquisition” at the graduate level and participating in oral exams for the Master’s degree in Bilingual Education.
