Design and prepare maps for internal and external customers. Provide mapping services to County, State, and Federal agencies including: Board of Elections, Emergency Management, Police, & Fire Departments.
Work with internal (Planning, Land Records, Tax, Permitting, Dispatch) and external customers on assigning addresses and address conflicts.
Addressing responsibilities: maintain GIS address points, street centerlines & E911 address ranges, directional routing, MSAG, and master address database; conduct field work for address verifications, GPS points, and GPS centerlines.
Work with the public on address and street name conflicts\changes. Coordinate meetings and public hearings, present results to the County Board of Commissioners.
Review and approve proposed street names and maintain reserved street name database.
Maintain the E-911 MSAG database preparing for the Next Generation of E-911 software.
Work with Intrado and telephone companies on MSAG errors and address conflicts.
Work with Intrado, telephone companies, and the NC Utilities Commission on
Cabarrus County 302\310 tandem and PSAP conflicts.
Coordinated eight month project building new addressing and street centerline database. Interviewed, hired and managed contractors and interns working on data updates. Analyzed, verified, and updated existing addresses, centerlines, and ranges.
Project resulted in the creation of an accurate, standardized E911/GIS Master Address Database (one of the first 911 data repositories designed to FGDC standards), and customized addressing toolbar to enter addresses and street centerlines.
Facilitated a multi-jurisdictional committee responsible for setting new addressing procedures for the County Land Records, Planning, Permitting, Tax, and Revaluation Departments.
Thorough knowledge of E911 addressing, ESRI software, ARCGIS, ARCIMS, ARCSDE, SQL database management, cartography, map design, and spatial analysis.
Speaker at the 2010 NCGIS Conference and the 2011 NENA conference on the creation and implementation of a E911 address repository and the design and use of addressing toolbar.
