Support of the US Airforce and US Marine Corps 10 upgrade project. Upgrade Windows 7 computers to Windows 10 using disk cloning. custom migrating tools or PXE.

Use my Network background to support of the US Air Force. Survey Comm Closets at various Air Force bases. Provide rack elevations, power and fiber needs. Plan replacement equipment needs, replacement network configuration and installation. Work with OSP personnel for fiber and power details. Meet with military and civilian project managers to provide preliminary survey findings and respond to their requests.

Provided infrastructure support for US & Canadian Sites. Provided Security support of various network devices by setting the devices up to use SSH and removing Telnet. Added devices to ACS and writing scripts to allow those devices to use AAA. Provided trouble shooting incoming tickets for various network issues. Pre-stagged HP switches, Cisco firewalls, or UNIFI WIFI routers and bridges to be shipped to remote sites and installed or travel to remote sites and install those devices myself.

Acting Network Lead in Iraq

Provided routing and switching designs to facilitate BDSC’s base network expansion as the base grew; I Setup HAPI tunnels using TACLANES to encrypt SIPR data via a tunnels though the NIPR enclave for remote bases connected with microwave links. Worked with the military to determine their needs and laid out the plans to fill those needs; Provided training for other network Admins. Duties also Include functions from Afghanistan below.

Network Admin in Afghanistan

Provided network support to US ARMY's networks; Worked with Enterprise CISCO Call Manager, CISCO IP Phones, Enterprise Active Directory with DHCP management; Enterprise Solarwinds, Remedy, CISCO 6509, NEXUS, 3750, 2800, 3800, 3900; general network support and trouble shooting. I helped manage 2 6509 using VSS and redundant fiber from each distribution switch back to the 6509s. I maintained the various CISCO stacks in the multiple closets as well as in the data centers. I also worked with the security team to track down DOD SIPR & NATO CENTRIX violations on the base. I used SolarWinds to track both LAN & WAN outages and for the local base as well as other area bases.

Moved Adtran & Acetel 7300’s from DS3 uplinks to OC3 or gigabit Ethernet on the core backbone, researched/documented ATM cross connects and made changes on the Adtran, Ciena, & CBX switches. Verify network connectivity. Work with Frointier techs at the CO to trouble shoot any fiber issues.

Test & Turn up Tech

Worked with field techs to bring up MPLS circuits and Customer’s edge routers or switches online; Worked with provider edge devices such as CISCO ASR and Redback ASR to trouble shoot T1, T3 or Metro Ethernet circuit issues, router problems with BGP or OSPF; Worked with Metasolve, Remedy, Wave and other programs as needed.
