WORK EXPERIENCE

UC Denver, Anschutz Medical Campus – Research Assistant May 2015 – Dec 2017 o Assisted in design, program, optimization and advancement of open-source 3D bioprinters, o Authored protocols for biomaterial synthesis, tissue fabrication, and 3D bioprinting experimentation, o Troubleshoot and debugged codes on Python for 3D bioprinter operation, o Trained undergraduate and graduate students on the execution of these protocols, o Created a framework for future 3D bioprinting research at Anschutz, o Thesis Project: The Optimization of Methacrylated Gelatin Using an Open-Source 3D Bioprinter o Designed, implemented, analyzed parametric study (DOE on JMP) and hydrogel characterization using MTS, o Developed and implemented protocols to synthesize and evaluate Methacrylated Gelatin.

Colorado School of Mines, Golden, CO – Research Assistant Aug 2013 – May 2015 o Studied and performed experiments on the study of transport phenomena and mechanics in tissues, with an emphasis in diagnosing and treating cardiovascular diseases, o Researched, designed, and executed new and existing projects, o Performed data analysis on historical and new data using statistical tools, o Created new PDMS microfluidic devices for bioanalysis, materials engineering and chemistry. TEAM PROJECT EXPERIENCE

Interdisciplinary Engineering and Design– Participated in 6 projects and led 3 projects, all of which utilized the fundamentals of heat, mass, momentum transport, applied thermodynamics in practical, and applications-oriented settings. Projects required investigation of feasibility, project planning, quality reviews, equipment troubleshooting, budgeting, and scheduling, as well as identification and implementation of process and yield improvements.

Ethylbenzene Production via Ethanol– Designed a chemical plant and plant alternatives that converted ethanol into ethylbenzene via ethylene intermediate, completed with economic feasibility, safety and environmental considerations, and plant efficiency.

Bioprocess Engineering– Created a plant design for biofuel conversion using methods such as fermentation, chemical, biochemical and thermochemical conversion.

Xylene Separation Chemical Plant – Conceptually designed a chemical plant using ASPEN Plus for the separation of Xylene, a unique process requiring the combination of solidification theory and distillation techniques to separate para- Xylene, ortho- Xylene, and meta- Xylene from pure Xylene.

High Altitude Solar Albedo Effects – The Icarus Project – Used multidisciplinary approach to conduct research and conceptually design a prototype satellite that capture direct solar, white-sky and black-sky albedo energy. Our design was one of the two final designs presented to Sr. Manager Clark of Spacecraft Technology Development Lab at Lockheed Martin to construct.

PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES & VOLUNTEER WORK
