Development and Product Support Manager (2002 – 2005)

Team created Java applications on a new Services Oriented Architecture based Web Services platform. Linux based Java Web Services accessed back end TPF (Transaction Processing Facility) travel reservation system. Team provided second level operational support on a 24x7 basis.

Development and production support for the on-time delivery of new Online Travel Reservations web site for IBM worldwide.

Led development and support for a new Hotel Image Server, from concept to implementation, providing hotel image content to Web Services customers.

TPF Middleware Integration Manager (1998 – 2002)

Led a 20 member team (2 managed remotely in UK) of Assembler, C and C++ software developers in development of middleware infrastructure components. Products linked front-end web servers with back-end reservations hosts using IBM TPF operating system, WebSphere and DB2.

Enhancement and maintenance of proprietary Communication Integrator (middleware transport product) on corporate TPF mainframe and distributed platforms. Components connect all host systems, external hosts and complexes in the global data center.

Development and maintenance of communications software on all TPF systems.

Acted as general contractor for construction of a Remote Operations Center. Completed within $286K budget.

Systems Engineer (1993 – 1998)

Lead engineer for upgrade of the Denver message routing systems from TPF 2.2 to TPF 3.1 operating system. Developed and implemented EMTOX interfaces for Unimatic and SITA terminal networks.

Lead engineer for upgrade of PGR (Production Gateway Router) system from a single TPF 3.1 system to a three processor TPF 4.1 complex. Developed and implemented alternate routing code for Communication Integrator middleware package.

Lead engineer for retirement of the Denver TPF message routing system and merge of functionality into the PGR complex. Adapted terminal handling and code set conversion routines.
