OBJECTIVE: Seeking a position as a mechanical engineer where I can use my strong analytical problem solving skills and leadership experience to support all levels of optimization and innovation.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering Graduation Date: December 2015
The University of Texas El Paso Overall GPA: 2.83
PROJECTS:
Shell-Eco Marathon April 2014 – December 2015
-Designed and created the full 3D model on NX and performed a finite element analysis on all parts along with hand calculations to confirm the computational results.
- Implemented 3D printed ABS plastic to minimize weight but still maintain rigidity.
-Devised the appropriate tolerencing for blueprints to machine the parts that were made of aluminum.
-Redesigned the vehicles fairing to increase fuel efficiency and reduce the vehicles total drag force.
-Designed and calculated the total amount of frictional force on the vehicle to allow it to be moved with one pound of force giving it a total gas mileage of 1400 miles per gallon.
Senior Design, ASME Robots for Relief Challenge September 2015 – December 2015
-Collaborating in a team of four people to design a remote control vehicle to traverse an obstacle course in a timely manner with cargo inside.
-Calculated the necessary torque of dc motors needed to power the vehicle and carry its payload.
-Implementing the use of Arduino circuit boards to program the vehicle to a Bluetooth controller for operation.
Mechatronics May 2015
-Simulated a quarter-car passive suspension utilizing Adams and Simulink.
-Evaluated and programmed the effect of using a PID controller as opposed to a traditional spring and damper system.
Heat Transfer April 2015
-Designed a heat sink to cool from 85 to 70 degrees Celsius with integrating a Matlab spreadsheet for all calculations.
-Constructed a 3D model with toleranced blueprints in NX for machining.
Aerodynamics and Control January 2015
-Performed simulations on models and advanced assemblies on Adams.
-Computed and processed the simulations from Adams to Simulink with oscillations versus time.

EXPERIENCE:
Undergraduate Research Assistant University of Texas at El Paso January 2014-September 2014
I work in a lab sputtering different samples for use in solar films, generators, etc.
I work with different machines such as X-Ray Diffraction (XRD).
I was also trained in design of the films and used my knowledge on NX to model and design samples.
I was able to lead many different solar projects as well as work in a team to accomplish a common goal.
