Spooner & Associates, Euless, TX Instrument Man – August 2010 to March 2011

● Responsible for making sure that all equipment was in the truck in the morning and all the equipment was put up in its respective place, and what needed to be charged was charged at the end of the day.

● Started working as a rod man and gained understanding of surveying conventionally using an S6 Trimble Robotic Total Station.

● Rod Man for conventional /construction level and did multiple large scale loops closing within .05 of a foot.

● Chopped line for many shots on large scale of topographic map being built in the woods. Very handy with the machete.

● Regularly pounded hubs and laths for construction projects.

● Used a 3 tripod/scanner system with the backsight and foresight being mirrors sitting on tribracs themselves.

● Located many property corners with a Trimble stat.

● Spent entire weeks on jobs just locating property corners. Very capable with plats and deeds, given the correct information.

● Also located many utilities, benchmarks, and city monuments.

● While working became more familiar with equipment used; such as GPS R6, R8, also Trimble/Leica Level Instrument. ● Assisted with level lines and chopped many lines for levels and shots to keep the instrument man from traversing ● Scaled large distances on quads traversing the best way to the work area miles through the woods, while keeping the equipment under extreme care. ● Assisted in positioning targets and scanning with Leica C10 Scanner that closed traverse or left open depending on the nature of the control.
