QUALIFICATION SUMMARY/desired positions
I began work in the construction industry on a survey crew and rapidly worked my way to Party Chief doing industrial work. I worked my way up through the ranks and have been a superintendent right at 30 years. My family goes back 3 generations in civil, heavy highway and structural work and I started in civil work as well working up to a finish blade operator. I switched over to commercial work in the early 80's. I have managed very large groups of employees and subcontractors as a Senior Superintendent, Field operations manager or can work as Project Manager, with great success and enjoy doing so. I have a lot of experience as an estimator and pride myself in being fast and accurate. My resources with subs and the ability to perform take-offs under time-line constraints allows our team to submit a qualified bid, even without some division coverage. I come from a long history of contractors as my father was a general contractor and grandfather were both in the business. I have medical experience, retail, high rise and multi-family, (I do not particularly like multifamily), not to mention heavy, highway and industrial. Nearly every project I have ever done included the infrastructure (wet/dry utilities, UG or OH electrical transmission, communications, subgrade, base and asphalt or subgrade and concrete paving but I do enjoy TI projects as well. I believe I can help bring streamlined systems and innovative ideas to your construction operation as a Superintendent, field operations manager or SPM, I am currently employed but seeking an opportunity to bring my experience and knowledge to better streamline the construction process for others, developing a more profitable operation, while networking my wealth of business relationships into your company’s portfolio of clients. I have tons of tilt-wall (over 1 million sq. ft.), cast in place concrete, high-rise, stick-frame, and structural steel erection experience. I hold more than 120 hours OSHA and industry safety training, first aid/CPR and ethics training. I can manage multiple projects simultaneously with semi-qualified help.
My family and I moved from Westlake, TX in 2000 to Kempner, TX and I am used to driving to Austin every day for employment. I have changed companies more than I wanted to but I did so to keep from travelling. We live in the country and my wife of 34 years does not like staying alone in the middle of nowhere alone at night, so I’ve tried to honor her request to be home most nights.
Thanks for your consideration.
