EXPERIENCE: MP Star Financial – Solon, OH
Oct 2015 – Controller (revenues of $4MM, 4 direct reports)
Present Financial responsibilities for MP Star include annual budgeting, cash flow analysis and year-end audit process. Operational responsibilities include continuous reviews of client and debtor A/R balances along with financial stability analysis of debtors. Also, responsible for all accounting and payroll activities for Custom Staffing Solutions temporary agency. Past responsibilities included maintaining the financial operations for the now sold Mrs. Weiss Soups and Sure Staff temporary agency. Automated the process of collecting hours, entering payroll and updating the general ledger for both Custom Staffing Solutions and Sure Staff from a few days process to a few hours process.
Total Container Group – Cleveland, OH (Owned by HCI Equity Partners)
Oct 2013 – Controller (revenues of $37MM, 2 direct reports)
Oct 2015 Responsibilities include annual budgeting, monthly forecasting, month-end closing, income statement & balance sheet reviews and year-end audit process. Also responsible for managing the AR, AP, HR, payroll and IT functions. Integrated the acquisition of a 2nd company (revenues of $17MM). Implemented a new payroll processing system at both companies, which replaced manual time cards and manual key punching with swipe cards that automatically fed the payroll system. Also, worked with insurance broker to make health insurance available for the acquired company.
Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics – Cleveland, OH (Total SG revenues of $42B)
May 2011 – Life Sciences Business Unit Controller (revenues of $140MM, 9 indirect reports)
Sep 2013 Responsibilities included 5-year strategic planning, annual budgeting, monthly forecasting, month-end closing, income statement & balance sheet reviews and review of internal controls for 9+ sites in the US, Europe, Asia and Brazil. Worked on the acquisition of 3 small sites including pre-acquisition due diligence and post-acquisition integration into Saint-Gobain processes and financial systems.
Feb 2008 – Aerospace Site Controller (revenues of $20MM)
Apr 2011 Responsibilities included daily accounting duties, month-end closing, balance sheet reconciliations, physical inventories, variance analysis, spending analysis and margin analysis. Other experiences included preparing and receiving management approval of a $1MM capital request for a plant expansion, preparing and receiving management approval of a $1.5MM capital request for the launch of a new product line, preparation and completion of a DCAA audit that allowed the site to obtain a new sales contract.
Mar 2007 – Manager of Financial Analysis (revenues of $850MM, 2 direct reports)
Feb 2008 Continued the duties of the Manager of Financial Systems position with additional financial reporting duties. Responsibilities also included the supervision of a second Financial Analyst. Other experiences included the development of a sales dashboard for management review, and the development of a financial dashboard that created one source for input, retrieval and analysis of financial data.
Mar 2006 – Manager of Financial Systems (1 direct report)
Feb 2007 Continued the duties of the Senior Financial Analyst position with additional dialog and responsibility to financial management. Responsibilities also include the supervision of a Financial Analyst, and dotted-line supervision of a Hyperion Essbase Database Administrator.

Daily responsibilities included the development and maintenance of multiple business systems including QAD MfgPro ERP software, GEAC FDC consolidation software and Hyperion Essbase analytical software.
Other responsibilities included collection, reporting and analysis of financial information for over forty worldwide sites. These duties included ROI, ROA and Working Capital Analysis. Data was communicated to all levels of management via Excel spreadsheets and Power Point presentations.
Other experiences included travel to seven countries to implement and train employees in the use of consolidation software. This training allowed each site to reduce their month-end close process by approximately one day.
