• Technology Center Consolidation: Developed long term Viacom data center strategy. Drove IT Data Center power footprint reduction from 1 Mw to 400 Kw, leveraging expanded virtualization, legacy application retirement and public cloud. Drove consolidation of Viacom IT data centers and broadcast centers to achieve operational savings of
$10M+.
• DevOps Framework: Reorganized engineering and infrastructure teams and implemented innovative DevOps framework to improve ability of digital software engineering and cloud engineering teams to deliver applications and services at a higher velocity. Developed new CI/CD tools and processes. Improved deployment velocity by 50%+.
• Public & Private Cloud Adoption: Spearheaded development and implementation of Viacom Cloud Strategy to build and deliver public and private Infrastructure as a Service providing compute, storage and networking services to corporate, broadcast and digital media initiatives, including AWS migration of all digital media applications, broadcast play-out cloud POC and augmentation of media publishing workflows with AWS EC2 and S3 services and Office365 to improve agility, and enhance infrastructure catalog of services. Enhanced deployment agility by more than 70% overall.
• SAP Technical Architecture, Upgrades, Security Notes: Designed technical architecture for SAP ECC, SRM/SVS, PI and BW. Performed multiple upgrades and note deployments. Implemented support structure for global SAP deployment.
• Complete Transformation and Modernization of Technology Infrastructure: Complete rehabilitation and modernization of technology and data center infrastructure eliminating mass service outages and improving data center PUE from 2.1 to 1.7 achieving power savings of $900k+ per year.
• Service Improvement: Reorganized IT Operations using blended model of on-shore full time employees, plus off- shore and on-shore outsourced managed services to provide SLA driven 24x7 support of all operations including SAP Basis, data center operations, server and network operations, infrastructure monitoring, batch job scheduling and monitoring, help desk support and legacy systems operations support. Attained operational cost savings of $600k+ per year.
• Global 24x7 Service Desk: Directed implementation of offshore 24x7 global service desk. The Service Desk serves Paramount Pictures worldwide and provides first level support for all business services across all time zones. Attained operational cost savings of $500k over three years.
• Implementation of Service Delivery Framework Based on ITIL Principles: Improved level of service and performance provided to end users and application development. Drove CSAT ratings from 60% to 95+% favorable. Implemented SLA/SLO targets and improved performance from 50% to 85% target achievement.
• Business Continuity / Disaster Recovery Improvements: Drove BCP/DR enhancement projects to reduce recovery point objective (RPO) from 24 hours to 15 minutes, reduce recovery time objective (RTO) from 36 hours to 4 hours and reduced annual DR costs by $1M per year.
• Enterprise Architecture: Drove modeling and design of Enterprise Architecture as a leader on Paramount’s Enterprise Architecture Committee.
• Cost Containment: Drove IT I&O cost reduction initiatives that reduced annual operating cost by $5.25M per year. Drive Viacom’s Global Technology Infrastructure Services Consolidation and Transformation Program to integrate IT and Media Infrastructure. Lead architecture, engineering, operations and support teams across the global Viacom brands and companies to support media and corporate business initiatives, reduce operating costs and improve service levels. VP, IT Infrastructure and Operations – Paramount Pictures 2006 – 2013 Led IT Infrastructure and Operations Services Team consisting of 85 FTEs and full-time contractors.
