VOLUNTEER EXPERIENCE OR LEADERSHIP

As a senior in high school I was a member of the Action Class. We volunteered at a site of our choice in the community for 2 hours every day during the school year. My site was the OB floor at Kirksville Osteopathic Medical Center. We were to change sites the first of January, however the staff on the OB floor requested that I remain at that site for the duration of the school year. The instructor of the class approved the request and I could stay. The project I chose to do was to bring community awareness to the needs of the NICU babies. Finished the project during the local fair that summer and received an A+ on it. I belonged to Medical Explorers which is a part of the Boy Scouts and was in that the 4 years of high school. My husband is a Marine and we help with Toys for Tots every year at the local chapter. I am a lifetime member of Modern Music Masters, admission is only by invitation was invited in as a Junior in high school.
