CAREER SNAPSHOT

CenturyLink Monroe, LA, 2013 - Present

Senior Systems Engineer May 2016 - Present

Upon promotion, I took an active role in defining the Agile Product Owner Partner role which enabled Agile Business Product Owners to not need full technical engagement. At the time, all System Engineers took on this role and engaged with the development teams in order to write all user stories and scope all development work. As one of the primary Product Owner Partners in the Big Data space, I was the primary resource for non-technical business partners on floundering strategic projects. These engagements often focused on translating and refining business needs and developing actionable technical user stories in order for development teams across the space to become realigned.

Redefined a failing implementation of 3 projects and the corresponding use cases to enable a successful deployment of CenturyLink’s first Cloudera Data Lake environment.

Ramped up engagement of CenturyLink’s Consumer Portal and App 20% by enabling customers to retrieve their account number via email request.

Oversaw efforts between internal development teams and 3rd party vendors to translate MEF 35.1 standards across our enterprise ordering, inventory, and reporting applications.

Successfully deployed and integrated a new streaming television product’s WebFocus reports and data processing through existing enterprise data assets allowing business partners to target markets with more engaging campaigns.

Provided guidance in creating Product Owner Partner roles within a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodology for the Systems Engineering organization.

IT Engineer II Jan 2013 – May 2016

As an IT Engineer II, I took a leadership role in training the Data Warehouse resources (Systems Engineers, System Analysts, Developers, Management, and Project Managers) on the transition to Agile Scrum from a more traditional Waterfall methodology. Training strategies ranged from structured class style efforts to championing the new Agile process through various Big Data projects.

Prior to the Agile transformation, I took ownership in defining the scale and scope of multiple projects dealing with “golden record” issues from multiple, disparate sources of record. These efforts often included traversing the politics of several dozen source systems and their corresponding business channels.

Had active role in CenturyLink’s enterprise educational process while adopting Agile Scrum as our methodology of choice.

Created the logic and designed the integration of a Master Customer ID across the Enterprise Data Warehouse.

Successfully achieved the migration of 3 legacy CRM systems into consolidated environments within the Enterprise Data Warehouse.

Led design of Enterprise Email Repository System featuring Do Not Contact functionality.

Hi-Tech Computers Ruston, LA, Aug 2011 – Dec 2012

Systems Analyst Jun 2012 – Dec 2012

Worked with sales agents to elicit various local governments’, hospitals’, and businesses’ requirements in order to justify implementation of new technology to better their processes.

Supported hardware repair operations for internal and external systems.

Supported physical network designs.
