Having over ** years of Database Administration experience working with database like DB2 LUW, Oracle and SQL Server over Unix and Windows platform supporting global clients. SENIOR DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR AND PEOPLE MANAGER • IBM (GLOBAL BUSINESS SERVICES) • MAY 2006 – PRESENT

I am working as a Senior Database Administrator supporting both Development and Production databases of Oracle [hosted on Oracle HAS Cluster version [12.1.0.2.0]] and DB2 hosted on Linux, Windows and AIX environments supporting Clients across the Globe. I am involved in Database Design and Modeling working closely with the Architects. Maintaining Production Databases by Working on Performance Tuning, Backup Recovery Strategies, Disaster Recovery setup and maintenance, managing user Securities. I also lead a team of DBAs, where I am involved in assigning and tracking the tasks across the team based on skill matrix for smooth and successful delivery of the work products and resolving conflicts. I also work as a mentor and a People manager for members of the DBMS competency. Achieved wonderful results by automating regular DBA tasks using shell scripting in the Projects to minimize the cost and efforts for the deliverable and increase efficiency by at least 60 to 70% in terms of man hours pro-activity. As an active member of the DBMS competency I have leveraged my knowledge and skills across the Competency to cross train DBA members and resolving Database issues across all projects. I worked in Oracle India as a Cloning Specialist in OHSREFRESH team where my responsibilities involved Apps Instance and database instance Cloning for the instances hosted at Oracle Datacenter at Austin as well as at client place. I have cloned both RAC and non RAC Apps instances in Oracle 9i and 10g. I have converted Non RAC to RAC instances Supported tars raised concerning client issues with database cloning. I worked as an Oracle DBA Supporting Clients Database in India and Europe. The major client supported was SERCO. My responsibilities as a Database Administrator involved Database monitoring [All database components], maintenance and reporting on the database components, Performance Tuning and Analysis using StatsPack reports, Monitoring CPU usage, troubleshooting database incidents and problems on a 24 X 7 mode, handling Service Request, change raised by the customers. Implemented monitoring scripts in the databases which proactively monitored the database hence reducing the number of Remedy / BMC tickets.

I was involved in Communication with the Clients in understanding the requirements, Prepare the SRS, Model the data architecture and Data flow diagram, Design the Database and designate tasks to the Development team to develop the software based on the customer requirements, coordinate with the QA team to ensure Quality of the deliverable. Tuning the Database to ensure optimal performance. Among the major clients were NHPC and HPCL [Power plants. govt. of India undertaking].

I was responsible in developing the Modules in Developer 2000 with the Database as Oracle 8i. I was also responsible to maintain and create the Database objects. The major clients handled included Ministry of Defense Oman [Inventory Management, HRMS], Ministry of manpower Oman [Oman Census capturing System developed in C for Palm OS]. The databases were Oracle 8i hosted in windows NT server.
