Led the development of a $1.8b private investment project for the energy sector based on an alternative gas transportation system to optimize costs and substitute liquid fuel during peak season. Led a team of 5. Procurement Director of Odebrecht Procurement Centerᅵ Houston, US, 2013 2017 Led the newly open procurement center to manage new construction projects ranging from $400m to $4b serving the Americas and Africa. Administered a budget of $3.5m/year. Led a team of 25 located in three countries.
● Opened the first procurement center capable of managing all demands of new industrial projects/businesses up to
$4b in four months, resulting in the immediate startup of new projects, eliminating the learning curve and optimizing the resources between different projects.
● Changed the decentralized company’s culture into a new centralized operation, including the operational teams from the different job sites and creating the procedures for it, in about six months.
● Created, for the first time, a centralized database of approximately 7,000 Suppliers, resulting in regular performance evaluations, quick NCR identification, and supplier classification.
● Developed and signed Master Services Agreements with third party Inspection agencies and freight forwarding companies with savings of about 20% and 15% respectively.
● Improved results of the first project producing 3.9% in savings, increasing man hours almost 20% less than the increment of work to be done.
● Led and expanded the Procurement Center structure incorporating two satellite groups on Argentina and Brazil.
● Defined the strategy and negotiation terms and conditions of major contracts resulting in the recovery of $50m on a budget of $650m for GSP project.
● Negotiated all contracts standby during 12 months and afterwards the cancellation of all of them without any legal claim and/or jeopardizing the EPA credits.
● Developed and implemented in three month a work process to satisfy a new contract in Mexico for Pemex, to support an “Open Book Estimation” contract for a $2.5b project.
● Closed the Houston office without any legal claim, separating 15 employees. Construction Manager for Expansion Loops Projectᅵ Argentina, 2010 2013 Led the construction of five new gas compression plants, upgrades of three existing ones with a total added capacity of 60,000 hp, and the construction of 450 Kms of main pipeline. Administered a budget of $450m. Headcount 200 and Subcontractors 1500.
● Saved 3.5% of projected construction cost in the total of works by planning, negotiating and sharing resources.
● Created and implemented the first company’s pipeline group, which successfully performed two spreads.
● Led a zero fatality project, achieving all HSE KPI, by implementing a solid HSE training program.
● Avoided strikes against the company by workers union, through building relationships with key actors of union leadership on a daily basis.
● Received no claim from subcontractors out of back to back contract terms and conditions from the main contract. Procurement Manager for Expansion Loops Projectᅵ Argentina, 2008 2010 Led the supply chain management of twelve gas compression plants, adding a total capacity of 60,000 hp, and 1,500 Kms of main pipelines; managed 125,000 pieces of pipes fully tracked plus 4,200 TAG items and almost 10,000 items of bulk materials. Administered a budget of $1.2b. Led a team of 15.
● Produced final savings of 7% in supply chain costs.
● Led an operation of 15,000 truck trips with zero traffic accidents during a complex and intense logistics transportation time.
● Managed to close out all purchases with zero claims from suppliers.
● Led the delivery of 95% of all items according to contract terms, with 1% late.
