Primary Project “NOBOL Conversion and Migration”: Application system conversions from SuperNova to AcuCOBOL, including modified control interfaces, documentation, shell scripts, etc. Converted abandonware 4th-generation applications to COBOL (ten programs).

Migrated replacement modules and other converted components (personally converted 50-plus COBOL programs, 100-plus Korn shell scripts, 8 script-based menus) from NCR MP RAS to HP-hosted RedHat Linux; extensive shell script updates to migrate applications and data from existing systems to newly-constructed QA platforms. Analyzed missing / extraneous elements for needs to convert / abandon / “sunset”.

Reusable shell scripts generated saved as much as three wall-clock hours per system migrated (scripts created were also adapted for field location migrations to the new platform).

Bill Invoice FTP Process (BillFTP): Designed, wrote, tested, and implemented UNIX Korn shell scripts to select printfiles, rename to contractual standards, and relay to a common FTP server. Implemented, updated, and supported batch procedure on the FTP server to transmit printfiles containing invoices from Excel's server to external print production facility in test, pro forma, and full-production modes. Legacy Billing Systems: Process re-engineering / conversion reduced Service Charge batch processing jobstream execution from over 24 wall-clock hours to less than three; other revisions, calculation maintenance, and reporting included process changes, system test, and support for new rate plans.

In a structured development environment, modified existing letter-generation programs per user request; duties focused on system analysis and indicated code revisions. Completed system analysis and preliminary development extending existing applications, creating a completely new type of courtesy letter targeting cardholders with problems using automated teller machines; these modifications involved communication across multiple departments and extraction of data from previously unlinked data stores, in addition to creation of structures for tracking related transaction history.
