Responsibilities include ballasting, rig stability, supply vessel, lifeboat coxswain. Monitors variable deck load to calculate and maintain the rig’s stability. Monitor the location of supply vessels, standby boats and helicopters. Monitor power management system at all times to ensure vessel has sufficient power to operate. Liaison – Regulatory compliance, USCG, ABS, and Ensco. Assist DPO as needed. Assist the Barge Engineer with preventative maintenance systems as needed. Rig Moves as well as Inclination Testing. Oversee maintenance of rig’s fire, drill water, ballast, and Bulk systems. Responsible for ballast board. Provide daily stability calculations and consumable reports to OIM/TP and Company Man. Carry out preventative maintenance on ballast control equipment and other marine equipment as required. Inspect ballast equipment and other marine operations and lifesaving equipment, as required. Assist in rig move plans, aid anchor handling boats, and perform mobilization and demobilization preparation.

Ensco Offshore: Drilling Equipment Engineer: Ensco 7500, 5th Generation DP Semi

Design and prepare rig modifications for approval, and preparing “As Builts” when completed. Manage and coordinate third party personnel for projects. Track drill pipe records/inspection schedules, mud pump performance/hours, activities/trip time/downtime records. Assist Drillers and Toolpushers with electronic IADC Reports. Open and complete Service Orders using the PeopleSoft System. Manage “Dropped Objects Program”. Assist with repairs of drilling equipment. Communicate with vendors concerning issues with repair, service parts, etc. Keep detailed history records of all drilling equipment including service orders, service tickets, and downtime. Generate Downtime Reports and Downtime Incident Forms when needed. Assist Toolpusher and Driller in preparing and carrying out well program.

Development: Create fabrication and erection drawings of structural steel buildings from architectural and structural plans. Coordinate with fabrication department, third party fabricators and erectors to ensure project is completed to customer’s satisfaction.

Offshore Systems Administrator: Create preventative maintenance (PM) and corrective maintenance (CM) work orders in the rig’s maintenance program (Maximo). Work closely with crafts and Maximo coordinator to create new, or modify existing, PM work. Assist the crafts in scheduling preventative maintenance. Create “inventory studies” to remove obsolete spares, and recommend spares quantities on hand by historical usage data. Perform regular inventory audits.

Materialsman: Receive all freight/supplies into Maximo. Create daily cost tracking spreadsheets detailing issues relating to budget constraints. Supervise and correct inventory deficiencies found during inventory audits.
