Responsibilities

As P&C Engineer, prepared drawings/documents for air insulated/GIS substations for various US utilities namely PPA, TVA, CMP, for both hardwired controlled and IEC61850 controlled substations. The documents included, one lines, three lines, P&C panel front views, BOMs, P&C AC & DC elementaries, detailed schematics, AC/DC station service calculations/drawings, SCADA point list/Drawings, substation communication integration drawings etc.

Planned and supervised commissioning of 500 kV transmission lines as part of T/L interface work at 500 kV substations.

Prepared Bidding Documents for two separate 500 kV substation projects.

Prepared technical specifications for 110 kV GIS switchgear, SCADA & Telecommunication equipment for LDC, for 110 kV UQU Substation.

Reviewed contractor’s drawings related to SCADA system and supervised testing and commissioning of protection relays and LDC related equipment for Makkah 110kV (1409-1410H) extension project.

Prepared tender specifications, reviewed design of 220 kV switchyard and plant instrumentation

Gas Turbine Units 5-8 and supervised testing and commissioning of generator protection, 220 kV switchyard and generator auxiliary supplies.

Protective relays, disconnect switch etc. for 500/220 kV Substation Extension Project.

Prepared tender specifications/drawings for switchyard equipment of 200 MW Power Station.

Supervised erection, testing and commissioning of 500 kV Substation - extension carried out under 2nd 500 kV Transmission Addition Project.

Oct. 1980 - Dec. 1982

Responsibilities

Supervised erection testing and commissioning of more than 8 transmission network substations up to voltage level of 300 kV, of metal-clad SF6 indoor switchgear, substations. These substations were built by M/S BBC Siemens, Mitsubishi and Hitachi.

Supervised independently testing and commissioning of above mentioned substations.

10. Assistant Engineer at Water and Power Development Authority, 1978 - 1980

Responsibilities

Tested and commissioned various 220/132/11 kV grid substations independently. These grid stations comprised 220/132 kV outdoor conventional switchyards and 11 kV indoor switchgear, protected by solid state relays.
