To whom it may concern,
Thank you for taking the time to review my application. A few years ago I spoke with developers from a firm upgrading our software at Lahey Hospital and Medical Center (we recently changed to a completely digital record system), and came away from the process knowing what I wanted to do with the rest of my life. Since then, all my free time has been dedicated to learning how to develop my own projects using mainly Java and mySQL. I’ve also learned to use other technologies along the way, and I plan to continue to develop these tools and explore new ones as I head into the future.
The need to new learn new skills quickly and efficiently is something that I take very seriously and something that I truly enjoy. It’s difficult to know where I stand in regard to other developers in the field, but what I can tell you is I do not give up when faced with a problem, I’m very good at listening to those offering guidance, and I usually only have to be told something once. I also believe writing and language skills are two of my best qualities.
I have personal projects I’d be happy to review with you. I’ve created certain mock programs that demonstrate the skills I have acquired, and I’m also working on a program designed to make my current job easier.
I have a decent job at this time, but I’m ready to take a chance and try to do something that I love, and I love working with software. I also enjoy the endless learning and growth that a career in software development would surely bring.
Regards,
Darrin Cassidy
