• Major Project: ‘VISUAL INTERFACE SYSTEM FOR THE DISABLED’ (VISD) Duration:7 MONTHS

Technology used:

The Visual Interface System for the Disabled aims at helping people who have impairments in mobility and speech. It helps a paralyzed person, who is unable to speak and express, to easily communicate with the help of his eye movements. The movement of the patient’s eye is monitored and it’s co-ordinates are mapped onto an onscreen keyboard. The user can create phrases or sentences. The displayed words are converted to speech through speakers.

• Mini Project: ‘ACCELEROMETER BASED DISTANCE MEASUREMENT’ Duration:2 Months

Technology used:

Our prototype device make use of the MEMS(micro-electro-mechanical system) accelerometer for measuring of distance and incremental velocity without the need of observing the mechanical motion of the moving vehicle. The basic concept is integration acceleration to produce velocity, which on further integrator gives distance. This is implemented by using accelerometer.
