Academic projects

Systems Engineering Management Plan: Designed a Master plan for an “Automatic food processing Machine” which prepares and dispenses packaged food products.

Project Included: (i) System Engineering Process – Developed Operational Requirements, Maintenance Concept, TPM’s, System Retirement & Material Disposal. (ii) Technical Program Planning – Developed Work Breakdown Structure, Project schedule & Milestone charts, Program Cost, Monitoring & Control. (iii) Engineering Specialty Integration – Work was allocated to respective engineering disciplines (iv) Configuration, Data & Risk Management.

Systems Engineering Project: “Automatic food processing machine”

Project included: Concept Development - Developed operational objectives & 5 different concepts to satisfy those objectives. Engineering Development – Engineering design, integration and evaluation. Post Development – Operational support, and Nonhazardous recycling of the system and safe disposal.

Operation Research: Solved 3 organization problems using Microsoft excel which included – Linear and non-linear programming, data analysis and decision analysis. Tools used: Solver, Decision tree.

Failure Analysis Project: Identified potential causes of failure in “Vehicles Ignition system” using mind-mapping, Ishikawa and flow charting diagrams. Identified the root cause by doing FMA&A Analysis.

Project Planning and Design: Designed and developed project plan for Kinetic Energy Recovery System. “A system which converts heat dissipated in vehicle while breaking into kinetic energy of the vehicle”.

Managed Time & Cost of the production, designed a flywheel taking load and stress into consideration.

Material Testing: Performed nondestructive testing on materials to find the surface and core defects. The defects where analyzed with the flaw tolerance of the material and accordingly rejected or accepted.

Heat Transfer Project: (i) Heat transfer through sphere – calculated time taken for the garbanzo bean to cool down, considering 1D heat transfer along its radius. (ii) Heat Transfer through a composite bar – Analyzed and compared time taken for the heat transfer between copper and wood. (iii) Heat transfer through an infinitely long cylinder – Calculated time taken for change in temperature through infinitely long cylinder.
