Senior Construction Projects Manager, 03/2013 to 05/2016 K-con Building Systems – Charleston, South Carolina I was recommended to this company to help them complete a federal project that was seriously behind schedule and threatened with contract termination. Neither the government or contractor were able to reach an accord on project changes, costs and delays. Fortunately, I was able to negotiate a settlement whereby building construction would re-start and complete as much of the building as was possible with remaining government funding. The building over the next nine months was roofed, exterior finish completed, windows and doors installed and the interior framed. Once this was completed K-con received a Partial Termination for Convenience and any other issues would be settled in court. Once this was accomplished I left their employ.

However, later I was again asked to take over a Dept. of Wildlife Maintenance building in Texas which was again seriously behind schedule and working with an extremely tough owners representative. The long and short story is I hired a new super and the project was completed to the governments satisfaction.

It was also at this time I was asked to construct four projects at Ft Lee in Virginia of various values. Once these were complete I undertook four projects in Michigan for the National Guard including an Air Traffic Control Tower. Along with these projects I was asked to undertake four projects at Horsham Joint Base in Horsham, Pennsylvania. The most difficult of the four Horsham projects was the interior demolition of a building and construction of a new Drone training and operation facility. Unfortunately, besides being seriously underbid the owners representative was hostile. All projects were completed and accepted by the military.

It was while I was turning over the last of the Michigan and Pennsylvania paperwork that I was in a vehicular accident traveling between the two states. My pickup was t-boned by a semi-truck and between hospitalization and rehabilitation I have been out of work for the last year. My recovery now allows me to work again.

VP Construction, 01/2011 to 08/2013

JCT Development – Lake Mary, Florida

I took a year off from federal construction to construct two high-rise condominiums in South Daytona Beach, Florida. Combined value of the 20 and 17 story towers - $70 million Senior Projects Manager, 10/2009 to 12/2011

Famous Construction Inc – Austin, Texas

I had completed working for this owners brother and was asked to project manage a section of the billion dollar San Diego waste treatment plant they had been awarded. Value 5.5 million. However, once the project files were turned over to me and the estimates reviewed along with pricing from several subcontractors I notified the company owner that the bid was at best to low by several million dollars. I eventually set up a meeting with the awarding authority commission and told them if Famous started this phase of the project bankruptcy would ensue and it would be in the interest of both parties to release Famous from the contract. They agreed and awarded the the next bidder. Famous then asked me to take over all of their remaining projects which happened to be on the east Coast, These included: a two story testing chamber for the Army Research Labs, an addition to a nitroglycerin plant, military housing and several others. Again, these projects were under bid and after I completed the projects Famous closed their company. Project Manager to eventually Vice President, 08/1986 to 11/2008 North American Construction Inc – San Antonio, Texas I was originally hired as one of two project managers to construct B-2 Bomber support facilities at Whiteman AFB. These projects consisted of taxiways, perimeter fencing and security, gated entrances and guardhouses, B-2 pilot training building and misc work. We also bid and were awarded, while I was there, the decommissioning of missile silos in Missouri and Kansas. Education

Once these projects were 90% completed I was assigned to construct the new high-rise GSA building in Sacramento California . Upon completion of this project I was made company VP and opened the only satellite office for North American Construction with a territory covering Alaska to Mexico and California to Colorado.

Projects bid on, completed include, but not limited to were : the new Sacramento Post Office Building, Sacramento Courthouse, Spokane, WA Courthouse, new COE headquarters in Walla Walla, WA, the Big Blue Cube tracking station, two border crossing stations, and twelve projects at Camp Pendleton along with several VA Hospital remodels.

Once the owner decided to retire I completed all remaining projects before moving on. Value of completed projects exceeded $700 million.
