Wrote ICORE ABS Tier 2 & 3 requirements for numerous features to introduce new technologies into AT&T’s data network, including:

1Beginning of the conversion of the AT&T data networks to IPV6

Switching Technology Planner for AT&T Business Services. Accomplishments included:

Wrote 4ESS requirements (equivalent of Tier 2 & 3) for new features for AT&T Switched Network, including:

oResale requirements for AT&T's new Edge Switch Architecture.

oSwitching and recording requirements to kill fraudulent SDN-NRA calls.

oBilling/recording requirements for a feature to allow 8YY calls on the Network.

oDatabase requirements to allow certain international calls to be switched to customer’s US switch, to meet customer demands.

oFeature to allow AT&T’s network to connect to competitive Local Exchange Carriers’ network. Later wrote some of the requirements to allow advanced services on these competitive networks.

oSeveral minor upgrades to Government Emergency Telecommunications System (GETS)

oFraud control feature to terminate fraudulent international calls.

Maintained feature database. Wrote numerous database programs using Infomaker & Oracle software to access and organize key feature information.

Evaluated proposed features for the long distance network, to determine if these proposals were affordable, technically possible, and economically desirable.

Managed the Development Commitment process for AT&T Business Services. This included using the process to financially commit new switching features for the AT&T Switched Network, as well as regular process improvements. Process improvements include elimination of paper commitment documents in favor of web-based documents.

Wrote and managed $20 million annual switching budgets. Budgets did not significantly overrun.

Prioritized AT&T switching features for Performance Verification testing. Capacity of testing facilities was a major bottleneck. PV Prioritization process ensured that the most important features were tested and deployed. This process also significantly improved capacity of testing facilities, to the point where it is no longer the bottleneck in our development process.

Developed/Redeveloped ABS Network Implementation division web pages, including the Technology Planners’ Web Page, which provides critical commitment data to Systems Engineers.

Created web-based archive of requirements documents, using HTML, Java & Perl.

Investigated and resolved reported code problems dealing with initialization, overload control, and recovery on AT&T (now Lucent) 5ESS Switch. Also did initial testing of code fixes.

Converted data population rules to new PRL 5.0 language, improving consistency of Recent Change databases.

Wrote a technical paper which describes how to cause operating system resource exhaustion in lab, allowing more realistic tests.
