Bank of America, (formerly Fleet Bank Boston), Albany, NY 1994-2005

Applications Programmer Analyst 2004-2005

Functioned as Subject Matter Expert for banking applications. 12 yrs.

■ Programmed in Merlin Applications; applied SSP (Standard Software Process) 3.0 to all projects.

■ SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) oriented, CMM (Capability Maturity Model) process oriented.

■ Implemented Business Requirements documents, transformed into High Level Design document, then to Low

Level Design document. 12 yrs.

Application Programmer/Analyst 1994-2004

Responsible for prototype design, unit testing, integration testing. Performed in a highly energetic, successful team environment. 12 yrs.

Distributed Data Environment SQL Server – 5 yrs.

Provided application analysis for projects involving SQL Server on a distributed environment. Utilized the following tools to determine where changes would be required to the system:

Remote Procedure Calls, Stored Procedures, Distributed Transaction Coordinator, Linked Servers, ODBC (Open DataBase Connectivity), JDBC (Java DataBase Connectivity)

Determined and coordinated changes required to existing stored procedures or creation of new stored procedures where required on servers distributed across the network. Changes would provide the user with the ability to query and update multiple databases tied to different servers over the network.

Provided Platform level analysis (MS Visual Basic Studio) and coordinated code changes (existing queries or new functionality, SQL calls to stored procedures – SELECT, UPDATE/COMMIT/ROLLBACK) which would be required to update databases tied to servers over the network

Coordinated with development group that all Business Rules/Logic were to reside at the server level.

Bank of America Distributed System

Servers held all Business Rules/Logic utilizing Host PCDs (Process Control Data).

All bank specific data and messages were stored in databases at the server level and updatable utilizing PCDs. All changes made would be reflected across the environment without any changes being required at the client/application level.

Security (Database connectivity), userid, and password were dictated by values in INI file.

The master Repository Server updated all environment servers

Utilized tools to provide the capability to login to remote servers to examine/change files if necessary.

Production Support Experience

Perigrine and FixIt database environments.

Users report problems and logs them to database and notify analyst that a problem has been reported.

Analyst recreates/reviews problem and determines (reviewing trace files and log files) as to which application (database, mainframe app, front end app) is currently causing the problem.

Provides information to application as to what code module is causing the problem.

Help determine the best fix scenario based on the severity of the problem (if the problem was the front end a software release would be required so the alternative would be to look at a temporary host application fix to the problem). In the interim, do analysis to see if there is a temporary workaround for the user.

Test fix in pseudo production environment and also regression test to ensure that fix did not create other problems.

Have users test fix and if approved, close the problem in the database.
