To Whom it May Concern:

I am applying to your Physician Assistant position to extend the care of your team. As a new graduate, I hope to gain experience and continue to build on the knowledge I already possess. My ultimate goal is to provide quality healthcare, elevate and educate people within communities I live and work, all while developing a mutually beneficial relationship with the providers within the organization.

I grew up the first ten years of my life in Richmond, CA where most families struggle with many resources. My family may have not struggled as much as others, but we were still affected by a community that was struggling. Seeing these struggles has guided me towards community service to help strive towards progress.

I volunteered for UCLA’s Mobile Clinic, a program that provided healthcare and other support resources for homeless and low-income populations in Los Angeles. As a member of Phi Delta Epsilon (UCLA’s Coed Medical Fraternity), I was responsible for mentoring new members about professional qualities that a physician and other healthcare providers should follow. In spring of 2011, Phi Delta Epsilon Gamma Chapter awarded me with the Travis Watterson Award, given once a year to the member who demonstrated the attributes and character of a true and model active member. At Samuel Merritt University, I was selected for the Health Provider Shortage Area Scholarship, and was sent to rural areas for most of my clinical rotations. All of these helped to continue that drive for providing access, compassion, and knowledge within a community.

I was a Nationally Certified EMT, worked as a Medical Assistant for St. Helena Hospital, but now pursuing my career as a Physician Assistant. During my clinical rotations, I accumulated roughly 2100 hours in various specialties.

Thank you for considering me to be apart of your team, as it is a great opportunity for me to keep giving back to the communities that have helped shape me into the person I am today. Look forward to hearing from you!

Sincerely,

Eric Bell, MS, PA-C
