Projects I Participated In :
1. Port said tunnels under Suez canal project: To link the western city of Port Said to the new industrial areas being developed in the east. The project consists of the execution of :
-twin-tube road tunnel (13.4 m Diameter,3.8 km length tunnels with a further 800 m of cut and cover tunnel) Areas of expertise with direct responsibilities:
1.Execution of four peanut type launching and receiving shafts: Four shafts with bracing Beams, counterfort columns and raft slabs. 2.Execution of 387 m cut and cover tunnel and open cut structure : Longitudinal D- walls, cross walls, struts and capping beams. 3. Execution of ground improvement works at the TBM starting zone
-Soil substitution block with 25% leg panels to the sand layer -Transition zone to ensure TBM stiffness jump. 4.Execution of cross passage
-Two Soil substitution blocks of plastic concrete as safe havens for both tunnels [68m] depth, Ground freezing works to construct cross passage between the two tunnels.
5. Execution of soil improvement works by micro piles : Execution of reinforced micro piles with 47 m depth, initial, final grouting to reach 30 ton working load per each pile. 6. Execution of piezometers and inclinometers:
A set of various depths piezometers and inclinometers to acquire the G.W.T level to ensure an early alarm of soil disturbance.
7. Gas Venting Along TBM Routes to reduce risks of TBM operations. Vents 25 m apart as a mesh along routes of the tunnels to release the pockets of combustible and poisonous gases. 8.Slurry treatment plant [TBM] :
Two plants for desanding slurry from a shield machine stabilized by pressurized slurry. 9.TBM grouting units :
Two grout plants for grouting between soil and the lining segments. 10.Precast lining segment production:
Rebar assembly, casting, curing, storage and transportation chain. 11.Dewatering by deep wells :
