As a Private First Class in the Infantry, I was called upon to lead, supervise and serve in an infantry unit of 10-20 where I employed individual weapons, machine guns and antiarmor weapons in offensive and defensive ground combat. By attaining Skill level 10 I was called upon to perform communications functions, construct fortification, perform land navigation, preventive maintenance on weapons equipment and vehicles. Complete reports, administer first aid where necessary, and operated vehicles to transport personnel, supplies and equipment. My tour of duty included Basic Training at Ft. Benning Georgia, followed by assignment to the 1st Armored Division in Freidburg Germany. I also served nine months in the 1st Armored Division in Baghdad, Iraq.
