TITLE:

Performance Evaluation of PMSG based Direct-Driven WECS during Voltage Sags using STATCOM

Description of project

The output power of direct-driven wind energy conversion system (WECS) will be limited by STATCOM during grid voltage sag.

Back-to-back PWM converter is adopted in direct-driven variable-speed constant frequency WECS with PMSG and STATCOM which can improve system efficiency and

performance.

STATCOM is to suppress voltage variation and control reactive power in phase with system voltage.

Performance evaluation of the whole conversion systems is handled using STATCOM as it reduces the voltage sags occurred.
