Relevant Experience:
University of Tennessee, EECS Department Knoxville, TN Aug 2017 – Dec 2017 Laboratory Teaching Assistant
o Evaluated lab reports and test code submitted by students enrolled in UT’s ECE 255 – Introduction to Logic Design of Digital Systems class.
o Assisted in Very Fast Hardware Description Language (VHDL) and FPGA design projects that provide students with a basic understanding of FPGAs and (VHDL) usage. o Projects include implementation of a 3-bit adder/subtractor using 2’s complement, utilization of a 4- digit 7-segment display, using VHDL code to implement finite-state machines (FSMs), and implementation of both distributed and block RAM on the Basys 3 Artix-7 FPGA board. o Helped students seeking guidance with Xilinx Vivado compiler errors and VHDL coding. Senior Design Project with the University of Tennessee Knoxville, TN May 2017 – Dec 2017 Team Member
o Collaborated with a team of six engineering students to design a multifunction board that will replace the Arduino-based project kit used in UT’s Computer Science 130 – Computer Organization class. o The multifunction board was designed to integrate with and add select functionalities to a Raspberry Pi 3 and included buttons, LEDs, a 4-digit 7-segment display, an LCD screen, and a buzzer. o Researched parts such as Shift Registers and I2C I/O Expanders to increase functionality of GPIO pins. o Helped design hardware layout and prototype the project by soldering electrical components onto ProtoBoard.
