Grass Roots 2 on 1 Power Plant
Owner: ODEC ( Old Domino Electric Company) Rising Sun Maryland
Site Area Superintendent:
Expansion: Installed all Fuel gas water and sanitary sewer underground piping,electrical duct banks.I was in charge of installing all the above ground Mass concrete.This included the Heat recovery steam generators and the combustion turbine generator and the steam turbine generator foundation’s with the table tops. Cooling tower Concrete including Raw Water Treatment building. Played a key role in all the site work before,during and after. Managed the Subcontractors for site prep and Atlantic Cassons for the drilling of 2,000 holes.
Expansion
Site Superintendent 5 Million Gallon Diesel Storage Revamp - 2013- 2014 ( Overland Contracting Inc) This project involved installing a OWS Tank and piping, Fuel gas piping, a new interior floor plate and exterior wall outside the existing tank on a stem wall, a 2 acre storage retention pond with a semi-truck unloading station. 2010-2013 Hydroelectric Power plant Owner: American Municipal Power Inc. Cannelton, KY Site Area Superintendent: The project had 190,000 cy of area ground improvement with stone columns. The next part was installing 95,000 cy of concrete in 18 months, inside of a cofferdam with limited access. Major challenge was placing and compacting 160,000 cy of hard fill in 9” lifts against precast blocks. Onsite dirt work consisted of blocks 1,500,000 cy.
2008-2010
Dog River Reservoir Upgrade
Owner: Douglasville Water Shed Authority
Site Superintendent: This project consisted of raising the existing lake elevation up 10’.It had three dams on the reservoir that had to be added to accommodate the added water. The spillway took putting in 25’Cofferdams and placing an additional 10’ of concrete on top the existing Labyrinth’s.
2006 – 2008
Hickory Log Dam - Phase II, $6,357,650
Owner: Cobb County-Marietta Water Authority & City of Canton, GA
Superintendent / Site Superintendent: The project consisted of construction of 180 ft. tall x 1,050 ft long RCC gravity dam with integral converging stepped- chute spillway. ASI subcontracted to produce, deliver, and place 235,000 cy RCC from a 400 cy per hour on-site plant. Also required to handle and set 117,000 sf membrane lined precast facing panels, and place 5,000 cy of facing and abutment concrete and 96,000 sy of bedding concrete. Project is tallest non-federal dam in Georgia and the largest RCC dam constructed in the Southeast
Repair/Alter Storm Water System Phase II - Big Lake Dam, $1,100,000
Owner: Dobbins AFB, GA
Superintendent / Site Superintendent: The project work involved RCC buttressing of early 1900 era dam on Dobbins Air Reserve Base near Atlanta, GA. The project will include onsite production of 10,000 cy of RCC.
Yellow River Watershed Y-15 Embankment Dam, $4,324,625
Owner: Gwinnett County, Georgia
Superintendent / Site Superintendent: The work involved modification of the existing Dam No. Y-15 for the Yellow River Watershed. The major work under this contract included: installation of erosion and sediment control measures; soil excavation on the downstream slope of the existing earth fill dams and at the location of new stilling basins; construction of a roller compacted concrete (RCC) spillway overtopping protection for the dams; installation of a granular under drain system beneath the RCC; modifications to the existing under drain systems and principal spillway piping; dewatering and temporary diversion of flows from the principal spillways; placement of fill in the existing auxiliary spillways using excavated materials from the dam excavation; and grading, landscaping, and grassing areas disturbed by construction. The dam is 38’ in height, RCC Volume of 10,583 cy, and 958 cy of conventional Concrete.
Yellow River Watershed Y-16 Embankment Dam, $1,824,175
