Anthem Inc. is an American health insurance company founded in the 1940s, prior to 2014 known as WellPoint, Inc. It is the largest for-profit managed health care company in the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association. It was formed when Anthem Insurance Company acquired WellPoint Health Networks, Inc., with the combined company adopting the name WellPoint, Inc.

As part of the medical services rendered in hospitals/professional organizations in United States, Anthem Claims would be submitted by the members/subscribers of the policy and the data will be driven into claims IT system electronically where large number of validations will happen to decide whether the claim submitted should be paid or not, which is done by claims processing engine. WGS Claims SSCR deals with the System Change Requests submitted from the business users as desired by the business for the Claims Division.

Small System Change Request comprises again two types of work intakes: 1. Business Development (Discretionary) SSCR.

2. Non-Discretionary SSCR.

Under the Business Development SSCR's, system request changes related to Automation and Efficiency, Interface Enhancements, Growth Opportunities & Cost Savings/Avoidance are handled. Under the Non-Discretionary SSCR's, change requests such as renewal for existing business/groups, modifications to existing products, Table updates, Pricing updates to Diagnosis-Related Groups, Internal file feeds/transfers (external /vendors file feeds not included unless a simple update is required), New Group Installation, Group Cancellation, Corrections of claims processes (i.e. accumulator fixes), Correction of membership issues, Federal Mandates, State Mandates, Corporate Mandates, Compliance/contractual, Litigation, BCBSA Mandates, Medicare Mandates, Medicaid Mandates, FEP Mandates, Audit and Prompt pay calculations are handled.

• Handle complex technical piece of works during SDLC processes of Analysis, Design, Coding, Testing and Implementation of IT Systems.
