1986 – 2017 - PolyOne Corporation, Kennesaw, GA
A global provider of specialized polymer materials, services, and solutions with operations in thermoplastic compounds, specialty polymer formulations, color and additive systems, resin distribution and vinyl resins. PolyOne employs approximately 7,300 people and has 60 manufacturing sites and 9 distribution facilities in North America, Europe, Asia and South America.
2010 to 2017 - Serving in dual roles as Manufacturing Process Sr. Lead Engineer & PolyOne Reliability Program Manager
Manufacturing Process Sr. Lead Engineer – Manage operational assignments linked to new acquisitions, capital programs, turnarounds, supply chain efficiencies and business unit analysis. Assignments include plant realignments, start-ups, site closures, installation of new production lines and providing manufacturing support for acquisitions. Successfully designed, developed and implemented operation plans for PVC powder lines in Kutno, Poland and Guangzhou, China.
PolyOne Reliability Program Manager – Responsible for managing change to achieve a successful roll out of a world class global CMMS as the platform to deliver TPM methods and PdM Systems that generated a 20+ million dollar global savings and a 15+ percent improvement in OEE in the first 4 years. This endeavor covers 85 plants, 7 different languages and multiple currencies. All plants are fully integrated with SAP financial reporting and Ariba Souring Enterprise. Led a collaborative effort with developers in creation of a world class functionality not available in any other product offering that included; Contractor Safety Portal, Grainger interface for purchases and stock room control, Equipment Criticality Ranking, Global Knowledge base, Predictive Maintenance interface for 3rd party services of corrective work creation into work management of the CMMS.
2003 – 2009 - Manufacturing Process Sr. Lead Engineer
With a focus on Capital planning and operational excellence, provided capital planning and execution for 9 plants. Delivered an in depth analysis of our business unit’s operational performance from which realignment plans where developed and executed that improved operating income and reduced working capital. Successfully designed, developed and implemented operation plans for specialty chemical (inks/coatings) plant in Shenzhen, China over a 2 year period.
2001 – 2003 – SAP Production Planning Team
As a key member of the Production Planning Team I provided site leadership, project management, system process mapping, master data requirements and conducted training in order execute and obtain successful startup of multiple sites in the US and Europe.
1997 – 2001 – Plant Manager (AdChem Specialty Chemicals, Kennesaw Georgia acquired by PolyOne)
Responsible for site activities; Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Environmental Health & Safety and Human Resources. Managed an annual manufacturing budget of $4.5 million and an inventory of $5 million to support $50 million in sales. Accomplishments included; Improved plant safety and reduced injuries to an incident rate of 1.0. Implementation of capital projects to strategically align our capabilities to meet the needs of the market while reducing cost and improving quality. Reducing operating cost through vendor negotiations, continuous improvement projects and employee based incentive programs. Improved customer relations by providing solutions to logistics and process flows.
1995 – 1997 Plant Manager (Flexible Products Co., Marietta, Georgia acquired by PolyOne)
Moved to AdChem upon the acquisition of Flexible Product
Responsible for site activities; Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Environmental Health & Safety. Managed an annual manufacturing budget of $3 million and an inventory of $5 million to support $28 million in global sales. Managed West Coast distribution operations. Provided operational support to European distribution center.
1990 – 1995 – Plant Engineer (Flexible Products)
Responsible for design, engineering and project management of a newly constructed 200,000 square foot facility in addition to continuing to perform all supply chain duties. Utilized industrial engineering practices to implement continuous improvement projects aimed at reducing cost, achieving ROI and increasing service. Performed process improvements at other sites as directed by corporate management
1988 – 1990 – Materials Manager (Flexible Products)
Responsible for all supply chain duties for the Ink Division. Streamlined processes to reduce cost and improve operational reporting.
1987 – 1988 – MIS Project Manager (Flexible Products)
Responsible for implementing order fulfillment, plant reporting and standard costing systems in four sites with revenues exceeding $175 million.
1986 – 1986 – Facilities Engineer (Flexible Products)
Responsible for modernizing certain aspects of manufacturing to meet sales growth.
