Projects

Research Assistant at NJIT- Working on Direct Contact Membrane Distillation (Master’s thesis: January 2017- Present).

1.Involves the usage of PVDF and ECTFE hydrophobic membranes and also the novel composite membranes which are partly hydrophobic and partly hydrophilic.

2.Optimizing the operating parameters to get maximum permeate flux and low salt leakage using novel membranes.

Molecular biology project titled “Isolation, characterization and plasmid profiling of nosocomial isolates” from hospital environment (January 2016- June 2016).

1.The project was carried out to show how cellphones could act as potent sources for spreading nosocomial organisms and that the microflora in that environment become resistant to the antibiotics.

2.Plasmid profiling was carried out to ensure the presence of plasmids which was the reason for resistance of bacteria towards antibiotics

Microbiology project titled “Isolation and characterization of xylanolytic bacteria from silk worm gut” (August 2015- December 2015).

1. The Project was to get pure strains of xylan degrading bacteria form silkworm gut as it is considered to have potential xylan degrading micro flora within the gut.
