Work Experience

BIOCON Research laboratory (Leading biopharma company) – Intern in downstream process R & D lab. (March-2016 to July-2016)

1.Worked on purification of therapeutic protein to get rid of a potent impurity and contributed towards marketing this product. Trained 2 new interns to take over similar project.

2.Hands on experience in using ion exchange chromatography, RP-HPLC, SEC-HPLC.

3.Contributed to the continuous improvement and optimization of exiting development concepts, analytical and evaluation methods and was part of direct contribution to the project group.

4.Conducted project by title “Failure mode and effect analysis of therapeutic protein” a risk analysis method.

5.Worked closely with the Sr. Scientist and Pr. Scientist of our lab for follow up and evaluations and prepared reports according to designated schedules and also exhibited good PC and MS –office application knowledge.

SYNGENE Research Lab- a Contract Research Laboratory. (Febrauary-2016 to March-2016)

1.Hands On training on different analytical instruments like LC-MS, HPLC, BIACORE.

2.Conducted analytical tests for real time serum and blood samples.

Research Assistant at NJIT- Working on Direct Contact Membrane Distillation (Master’s thesis: January 2017- Present).

1.Involves the usage of PVDF and ECTFE hydrophobic membranes and also the novel composite membranes which are partly hydrophobic and partly hydrophilic.

2.Optimizing the operating parameters to get maximum permeate flux and low salt leakage using novel membranes.

Molecular biology project titled “Isolation, characterization and plasmid profiling of nosocomial isolates” from hospital environment (January 2016- June 2016).

1.The project was carried out to show how cellphones could act as potent sources for spreading nosocomial organisms and that the microflora in that environment become resistant to the antibiotics.

2.Plasmid profiling was carried out to ensure the presence of plasmids which was the reason for resistance of bacteria towards antibiotics

Microbiology project titled “Isolation and characterization of xylanolytic bacteria from silk worm gut” (August 2015- December 2015).

1. The Project was to get pure strains of xylan degrading bacteria form silkworm gut as it is considered to have potential xylan degrading micro flora within the gut.
