Manage Linux servers, managed backups of Linux and Solaris, processed Flight data.

Built and Maintained 9 Debian Linux servers. Transferred flight data from AFRC to AMES, stored and ingest the data. Then ran the data through the Pipeline with additional store and ingest. Help write SOPs for the process of transferring, storing, ingest, and running the Pipeline. Maintained backup first using Bru-Backup then Zmanda’s Amanda Express backing up Linux and Solaris servers.

Provide Linux/Unix and Windows operating system administration and support for software product engineering and corporate IT applications. Manage backups, create new accounts, set up remote access, install software, set up new hardware and troubleshoot Linux and Unix server problems. Effectively managed/supported two core test program engineering applications, a lot yield database and application storing test programs for electronic devices that generated reports and quality control for all domestic and global manufacturing sites. Identified and drove process improvements to increase efficiency, performance and stability.

Took control of yield database; enhanced Perl programs and Apache to require 35% less support. Performed extensive application modifications as disk space requirements increased from low megabytes to gigabytes. Streamlined data import process by 75% and improved application uptime 85%. Reduced need to purchase additional disk space or larger data servers. Created applications that periodically cleaned up engineering data servers, increasing availability of working space for incoming designs.
