Skills/Training
25+ years working with Unix and it's variants through the years. From Ultrix and System V to Minix and RHEL with everything in between. Having my start on various micros in the early 80s and watching the progression of technologies through the years has given me insight into the field and the practice that is unique and likely rare. Compiling and recompiling things from source, be it C, C++, g++, gcc, or whatever. I can work my way through it and get it to compile. I have recompiled kernels, solved package conflicts and the like, set uid/gid properties along with file perms. I've gone as far as to write/create my own /dev/ hooks in various fashions. I am a master of the concept of “monkey-see, monkey-do”. I am quick study and I frequently spend my off hours pursuing continued education through various eLearning courses and texts. I am also well versed in a telephone support role and I have no problem handling all sorts of calls. From hostile to friendly, I am a master of making that “5 minute friend” out of any caller. 05/16 I create a solid platform of IT policies and practices to promote efficient day-to-day to 4/17 operations. I oversee a multi-platform network comprised of 60+ OS X and Windows end-users as well as other hardware and storage. I also administrate Salesforce, Five9 SaaS dialer, Watchguard (VPN, etc), AD/OD, OS X Server, Samba, and physical networking requirements. 24/7 In Touch, Netflix, LLC.
12/15 I took inbound calls from end-users and assist in billing queries as well as front- to 4/16 line device troubleshooting in a high-volume call center environment. I learned how to de-escalate irate customers and turn a negative into a positive situation. IT Helpdesk Technician / Python Developer, AGR Group, Inc. 11/14 I administrated Touchstar dialer system with Asterisk 11 and MSSQL/postgresql to databases. I performed remote maintenance on systems and database through 11/15 automated processes written in python and bash when necessary to maintain large groups of servers of varying operating systems through batch methodologies. I wrote documentation for processes involving these methodologies as well while in the development process. I also wrote automation programs in Python to interface Asterisk 11 through the pyst libraries. Refrences available upon request.
