Description

IT173A is a GIS Upgrade Project which includes Technology, Hardware and GIS Data (from ArcGIS 9.3.1 to ArcGIS 10.4).Land transport Authority has four GIS applications Geographic Data Management (GDM), Traffic Accident Analysis Management (TAAM), Pavement Management System (PMS) and Geotechnical Database Information System (GDIS) which are customized GIS Applications which runs in a client server environment.GDM application acts as the agent to manage the authority’s GIS Data in a common repository, it also interacts with so many external and internal interfaces. TAAM - Road Safety Engineering Unit (RSEU) receives traffic accident details and traffic accident locations from the Traffic Police (TP) for road safety analysis. PMS is useful tool for storing and analyzing massive road condition data for the entire road network of Singapore and maintenance regimes in order to ensure that the entire road network is safe smooth riding and yet cost effective. Geotechnical Database Information System (GDIS) is used to provide information on instrumentation / boreholes within Singapore to various users. GDIS provides near real time information about the site condition, such as geological formations, soil, ground-water, pour water pressure, strain gauges, settlement troughs etc. by online serving of readings from the instruments installed at various contract sites.
