Prepared the SOF community worldwide in the correct procedure to configure and manage the TACLAN tactical local area network. Job responsibility is designed to ensure students have the knowledge and documented processes to properly set up, operate, administer, troubleshoot, and maintain a full TACLAN or C2 equipment suite. The requirements are to generate network cut sheets, create TACLAN service requests, map out the TACLAN network, install and configure the WAVE, and deploy additional virtual resources using VMware vSphere 5. In addition, the students will set up Active Directory (AD) accounts, create organizational units and global groups, and set permissions on the Windows 2008 R2 Server Domain Controller (DC). They will also create mailboxes using the Microsoft Exchange 2010 Management Console (EMC) and automate user account creation using Microsoft Power shell. The students will also use Windows Deployment Services (WDS) to deploy the Windows 7 client images

The students were employed by a wide variety of firms including: AT&T, SBC Communications, Bell South, Perot Systems, Cisco Systems, Microsoft, Nortel Networks and IBM. Classes were held either on their site or at one of the Tech Data training centers located around the country. This position required 80% travel, and approximately 100,000 air miles per year.
