JOB DESCRIPTION
Transthoracic Echocardiogram (TTE)
Schedules patient for the procedure.
Collects patient date (i.e. name, address, phone number, etc.) and medical history of the patient.
Instructs the patient prior to the procedure.
Prepares the patient for the procedure.
Accurately performs 2D, color flow / Doppler and M-mode study.
Compare present study from previous study (if any).
Informs the attending cardiologist if any abnormality seen in the study.
Prepares the study for viewing of the attending cardiologist.
Uploads the study for digital imaging.
Type and prepare the printed result for signing of the attending cardiologist.
Export the result to the ward, medical file of the patient or the clinic where the patient will be seen Intra-Operative.
Transesophageal Echocardiogram (TEE)
Prepares the data of the patient for OR (i.e. name, age, type of operation the patient will undergo); confirm the time and schedule of the operation.
Inform the cardiologist performing the TEE the OR schedule including the name of the patient and the type of operation to be done.
Show the cardiologist performing the TEE the pre-op echo of the patient prior to the Intra-op TEE prior to use, complete patient information data and prepare CD’s to be used in the procedure, free echo machine from dust and wipe with sterilizing solution before entering the cardiac OR.
Assists the anesthesiologist in the insertion of the TEE probe.
Guides the cardiologist and record all the views taken.
Accurately performs Doppler and M-Mode study to determine cardiac function (both pre-post operative TEE).
Cleans and sterilize the TEE probe and mouth guard after procedure.
Uploads the study for viewing.
Type and prepare the printed result for signing of the cardiologist.
Export the result to the ward, medical file of the patient.
