Managed multiple projects for Hi-Crush including on boarding of the Long View service desk and Network Operations Center, implementation of an MPLS failover system for the company network infrastructure, a wireless LAN field implementation to assist with railcar logistics, and created/managed a project for a redundant system for business critical software/hardware eliminating a single point of failure.

Multiple Infrastructure Projects December 2010 – October 2013

Citrix Upgrade project - Managed the lifecycle of this project. Company upgraded business critical software which would only run on latest version of Citrix in a XenDesktop/XenApp environment. Project upgraded hardware, network infrastructure including CitrixNetscaler, and entire Citrix software environment. Project delivered on time and under budget.

App-V implementation project - Managed the lifecycle of this project. Company moving to new building and wanted to use App-V as the main component in new infrastructure. Architected the App-V environment and managed the hardware/software implementation and personnel producing the deliverables. Project delivered two weeks late due to building occupancy issues out of my control but the project was delivered on budget.

Application packaging project - Managed the application packaging resources. Company upgrading to Windows 7 OS and needed business critical applications packaged for deployment in new environment. Applications packaged and tested per MS packaging best practices then deployed via SCCM. Project delivered on time and on budget.

Virtual Desktop Infrastructure project - Managed the implementation of the project. Company to move to a virtual desktop environment using VMWare Horizon View. Project upgraded hardware, network infrastructure, created new virtual images, and packaged applications for the new environment. Change request needed as there were more applications to package than company originally disclosed. All deliverables met.

SharePoint/DBA project - Managed the implementation of the project. Company needed in house software to function in real-time for company trader to properly manage trading/price risk in energy markets. Managed resources who worked collaboratively with company to identify design and needs of the traders. Updated many Oracle databases which were tied in to SharePoint software and produced custom pages displaying data needed by traders. Project delivered one week early and under budget.

NetApp storage project - Managed the implementation of the project. Company needed to expand and upgrade their storage capacity. Upgraded software as necessary and seamlessly transitioned new NetApp hardware. Project delivered on time and under budget.

Helpdesk Consolidation project – Managed the implementation of the project. Company acquired another company and needed to integrate the many different helpdesk services. Managed resources who conducted interviews with many different departments/personnel to identify all helpdesk coverage and gaps if any. Analysis of data along with best practice recommendations provided to company as the main deliverable. Project delivered on time and under budget.

Cisco VOIP upgrade project - Managed the implementation of the project. Company needed to upgrade their VOIP environment due to acquisition of another company. Upgraded hardware as necessary including phones, network infrastructure, and Cisco telephony equipment. Project delivered on time and under budget.

Company acquisition integration project - Managed the lifecycle of the project. Company needed to integrate acquired business into their IT infrastructure. Moved all personnel equipment and server hardware from acquired company to new office space. Project required a change request due to mistake by ATT when implementing MPLS circuit. All deliverables for the project met.

VOIP upgrade project (International) - Managed the implementation of the project. Company needed to upgrade antiquated VOIP telephony in another country. Use of local translators needed. Project scoped incorrectly by customer requiring a significant amount of extra work by the onsite resources. Project delivered on time and on budget.

Network Infrastructure project - Managed the implementation of the project. Company needed to expand network infrastructure due to internal growth of business. Project built servers, configured routers, and built network redundancy. Project delivered on time and under budget.

Documentation project - Managed the implementation of the project. Company had complex processes which needed to be documented. Worked with company SME to design the documentation solution to ensure the solution met the deliverable set forth by the stakeholder. Project delivered a couple of days early and under budget.

Backup and Disaster Recovery project - Managed the implementation of the project. Company realized they were out of compliance with corporate charter regarding backup and DR procedures. Project designed solution with company input to meet corporate charter requirements. Servers built, storage capacity increased, tape library expanded, network throughput increased so the deliverables of the project could be met. Project delivered on time and on budget.

Datacenter migration project - Managed the implementation of the project. Company relocated to a larger building and needed to move their datacenter to the new location. The project moved or built servers as necessary, installed MPLS circuit in new location, and transitioned many servers from physical to virtual. Project delivered on time and under budget.

PKI implementation project - Managed the implementation of the project. Company needed PKI brought to the network environment. Project delivered late due to a death on the management team of the company. This held up design decisions which needed to be made until a replacement manager was hired. Change request needed and all project deliverables met.

Wifi project - Managed the lifecycle of the project. Company purchased new railcar scanning software and wifi needed to be put into the rail yard so the handheld scanners would function. Project delivered on time and on budget.

MPLS Redundancy project - Managed the lifecycle of the project. Company has locations all across the continental United States and the home office in Houston was the only location with network redundancy. Worked with stakeholders to design solution. Project delivered on time and under budget.

BP July 2008 - November 2010

Project Manager, Technical Lead, & Systems Integrator

Architected and implemented a Citrix solution from the ground up for BPTT (British Petroleum Trinidad & Tobago). Managed resource teams in both the United States and Trinidad & Tobago. The project involved creating multiple Citrix farms which allowed over 600 contractors to return BP laptops and use their own equipment to access applications within BPTT. This project resulted in a substantial reduction in hardware costs for BP.

Used Microsoft Softgrid/App-V to sequence or “virtualize” applications for the company Citrix farm. This work allowed over 100 servers in Europe and the United States to be decommissioned through application consolidation to the Citrix farm; which resulted in large cost savings for the company.

Worked extensively with a migration tool to migrate user profiles and data into the Common Operating Environment (COE) which were subsequently deployed locally to users worldwide.

Wrote numerous scripts and or helper applications to automate repetitive tasks or reduce data entry errors thereby increasing productivity and end user satisfaction.

Network Consultant

Designed custom solutions for operating system migration with the Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT) as the primary resource.

Worked extensively with the User State Migration Toolkit (USMT) to integrate user profiles and data into the operating systems that were deployed.

The deployment process was handled via several different methods such as: Windows Deployment Services (WDS), Removable Media, or network share.

Anheuser Busch September 2006 - March 2008

Project Manager/Systems Engineer

Reviewed subject matter expert’s (SME) installation documentation for completeness. If the documentation was acceptable, used the submitted source files to repackage the product so it conformed to company standards using Wise Package Studio as the tool to create the package. Packages were deployed to upwards of 10,000+ individual users.

Followed the SME’s submitted installation guide to test a product via the company Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). The package was then validated as either a pass or fail.

If a product did not pass testing, worked with the SME to troubleshoot and resolve the reasons for the product failure.

The final stage of testing involved deploying the package via SMS to test machines in the computer lab.

The company had a large Citrix farm. Installed products to the various terminal servers and published them for use by the company Citrix users.

Built servers for the testing lab with the following operating systems: Windows 2000 server, Windows 2003 server, and Windows 2003 x64.

Wrote scripts to accomplish consistent application installation across multiple operating systems and multiple hardware configurations.

Maintained environment images using Altiris products. The images were pushed to the image server for storage or pulled down to the lab test machines to restore the lab.

Used Active Directory to ensure all the lab test machines were receiving the correct group policy.

Developed standards, guidelines, and best practices for application repackaging and software testing.
