Interior Decorator and Designer

Wallpapering & Faux Finishes - New Holstein, WI - 1980 - Present I am doing a career change. I followed my family moving to the area. I have been working self employed in a 5 generation family painting and decorating business for many years. At our peak we had 8 employees. I also flip properties. Summary: Knowledgeable self starter with problem solving skills that engage Interior Designers, Architects and Clients in determining budgets, time constraints, decorating style and color preferences to their satisfaction. Customers value my work ethics and integrity.

Experience: Self employed Wallcovering Installer, Painter, Faux Finishes and Interior Decorating and Design. Five generations in the Milwaukee area.

Coordinate schedules with Interior Designers, Contractors, Architects, Suppliers, and Clients to insure deadlines and budgets were met in Wisconsin, Illinois, Georgia and Florida. I have had 8 employees. Numerous sub contractors.

Successfully installed numerous types of Wallcoverings. This includes, Commercial, Antique, Hand Painted, Corks, Grass Cloths, Fabrics, Linens, Photo Murals, Hand-painted Murals, Anaglyptas, Lincrustas and Wood Veneers .

Custom colorized to create original and recreate historic finishes. This includes Striae’ Marbles, Granites, Woodgraining, Faux Venetian Plasters, Glazing, while incorporating Metallics and Gilding. Experienced in HVLP, airless spray painting, tiling and finish carpentry.

To address client concerns, I have successfully used multiple problem solving techniques such as brainstorming, research, samples and root cause.

Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Blueprints, Real Estate sales and QuickBooks.

Worked with a diverse group of clients, residential and commercial.

Converted an 1869 Schoolhouse into a home. This included budgets, design, scheduling, bidding, subcontracting, tiling, drywalling, carpentry, historical research and lots of labor; to meet today’s building and energy codes. Helped convert an antique train to a restaurant Waukesha. Helped convert a fire house to an interior design studio Wauwatosa.

I worked for a company called LMBerry. I corrected spelling for the Yellow Pages. I was in charge of many Yellow Page advertising books in Wisconsin.

I worked as a waitress and I was promoted to head waitress in 6 months. Performed scheduling and assigned duties.
